Monkey Bridge

5_ Comments

- Someone who had once saved an American special forces until may be given some special treatment. Mai Grandfather didn't had American connection.
- Uncle Michael told the story about what happened in the monkey bridge and Mai face slammed shut, that their were no swell of emotion and no tangible reaction she could of hold.
- Mai and her Uncle Michael wanted to now what happend to Michael grandfather.
- Mai is emotional of what Micheal told her about the Monkey Bridge, that one night, she woke her self by her crying.
- The American dream could be worked with ardent criminality.

- Their is a woman (who might predict the future) who told Mai that her father is not dead, he is somewhere out in the world. Then te woman is going to interpretation to the next step and she want Mai to help her.
-Mai mother world was kneeling in front of an altar.
- Mai grandfather had one more day to live in his own country, village.
-Mai was thinking and making question about her mother and grandfather about wht would happen to them?
- Mai was beckoning her mother room.

- Why did the woman needed mai to help her interpretation?

- Mrs. Bay was talking to Mai mom about joining into a joint venture.
- Mai mom is trying to work herself into the land of the living, working a lo't to forfill her dreams and the real life.

- Mai trained the eagle-claw style of fighting and was practicing all kinds of terrains. They wer preparing for the thrust and parry of all- out guerrilla warfare.
- Mai knew that the Mongol (the enemy) would and can be hunted so, she taughtherself to hunt Mongols.
-Mai was having an interview with Mr and Mrs. MacMahon. They were telling her question about her life but, when they asked Mai where she lived, she told them but not what was happening.
-Mai was taking a tour around the Campus.
- One day, when Mai and hr mom was relased fro the rehabiliation center, she found te apartment solidy sealed from the outside. The apartment was different from usual apartments.

- Mai and her uncle Michael were having quality time together . They were seeing a movie, watching small towns Pennsylvania boys leave an ordinary steel- mining existence to figth in Vietnam, having tme together. When they were having time together, Mai was telling question about killing people.
- Oneday, Mai notices sounds i the bushes and they were all on guard. When they were getting closer and closer and they realize that its was a child, a child that was about to die and Mai hold her uncle.
- Her uncle and her felt their wer danger when they passed/ walked throught the outskirts of the village.
- When Mai went to the other side of the village, she was prepare. She had the equipment is she gt lost but, she had a sense of fear and she was scare of whats she's about to face.
- She was having a college interview and she had an "opponent". The interview was to be a battle field.

- Mai mother told her that she could help the family because Mai is the Manager and her father is dead.
- They are going to move into a new apartment but Mai mother told her that she needs to stand up against the American if she wants to have anything.
- They went into a new country but Mai mother didn’t felt safe because their were danger everywhere.
- Mai wish is to be a Vietnamese warrior, a fearless, strong warrior.
- Mai want to be a warrior so, she is tricking her mom because her mom wanted her to go to collage in America when they arrived.

- The area that Mai was living, their were a lot of gun shooting and the hospital had the smell of blood.
- Mai grandfather was born in Ba Xuyen, a rice- growing province in the Mekong Delta and he also was a traditional man who never live his village and don’t like to travel.
- Mai mother was ill and her family took her to the hospital. In a few days, she felt better.
- Mai touch her Green card in her jacket and felt the plastic protective cover between her fingers.
- Mai mom told her that the Mongols army was too strong to oppose head-on so her mom use to say that “we sat by the backyard bamboo grove in Saigon. Everyone painted the leaf of each tree, sending a message”.

- Mrs. Bay was advising her friend to tell the American do not brig anything with them and she advice to keep what you see behind your eyes and save what you think under your tounge.
- Around the south of Vietnamese colonel shot himself and the mom told Mai that is a ome( a bad omen).
-Mai says that bedrooms are dngerous places, that her mom room was really dark and when they went to sleep, Mai would sleep beside her.
- Mai is tougthing the untouchable part of her nightlife.
- Her mom writes he life and this is the first time mai is able to see what she is writing
